Christian schools have been on Grand Rapids' west side (that is, west of the Grand River) since 1883. It has always remained separate from the Grand Rapids Christian School Association, which covers the rest of the city.

Early History[]

Small one- and two-room schools on Alpine Avenue and Crosby Street were begun in the 1880s to bring up the children of Christian Reformed parents in the faith of their family.
